Role Summary

Independently supports a wide variety of complex Investment Risk Management activities. Partners with others to generate ideas for enhancing Investment Risk Management's capabilities. Contributes to formulate cross-functional initiatives. Applies working knowledge and broad expertise to accomplish domain goals. Is familiar with tools, processes, and procedures used to carry out responsibilities and provides guidance to more junior associates. Develops recommendations for smaller Investment Risk Management fixes, enhancements, and tools. Continues to develop knowledge of other risk domains. Escalates more complex issues to senior team members.

Responsibilities:

Risk Identification

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of financial market conditions to inform risk identification. Performs research for projects and other activities designed to identify emerging risk. May initiate individual projects that are more limited in scope.

Risk Measurement

  • Defines and implements enhancements to existing risk reporting and processes. Independently tests and validates risk systems/reporting and ensures identified issues are remediated. Identifies and develops new risk reporting and metrics. Prepares recurring assessments for complex/higher-risk strategies or activities. Ensures accuracy of metrics/data used to monitor risks, investigates unexpected results, and coordinates the resolution of complex issues. Provides quality review for reporting and metrics compiled by more junior associates

Risk Monitoring

  • Interprets results from risk reports and discusses findings with more senior associates. Monitors risk reports/processes/audits and conducts in-depth analysis to understand key drivers of identified issues/risks and recommends corrective actions. May review risks escalated by more junior associates.

Risk Communication

  • Independently responds to internal and external requests for standard and more complex/bespoke risk reporting and/or data sets. May respond to new and/or complex requests from internal and external stakeholders. Assists more senior associates with presentations to governance and steering committees. May regularly meet with portfolio managers, participate in meetings with investment division leadership, and lead discussions on certain topics. May participate in meetings with external stakeholders such as clients or prospects.

Risk Mitigation

  • Leverages existing risk mitigation strategies. Collaborates with other industry participants to keep abreast of the latest risk measurement and mitigation approaches.

Qualifications:

Required:


  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND

  • 5+ years of total relevant work experience

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week
