Job Description
Primary Function of Position:

This role will be reporting to the Endoluminal PMO Manager, you will be accountable for the management of both New Product Development (NPD) and Sustaining projects for the Endoluminal Business Unit. You will be aligning engineering, clinical, and regulatory schedules, to ensuring that the right products are created and delivered at the time of market introduction to ensure the success of the platform. Your influence will be critical to ensure excellent cross-functional communication and coordination, and you will play a key role in the prioritization and development of new technologies for the platform.

The position requires experience in medical technology products and be able to combine that experience with a knowledge of bringing projects through a development cycle and delivering them on-time and on-budget. The role requires knowledge of product development and manufacturing, project management, and most importantly managing through influence.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Effectively manage cross-functional development teams across the business unit and shared services, providing oversight on critical projects, and ensuring the teams deliver against their commitments within the project contract.

  • Manage the project plan by identifying critical path, constraints, contingencies and mitigations to achieve project goals.

  • Escalates threats to project plan as required to functional management and senior leadership

  • Ongoing partnership with the cross-functional teams to update weekly / monthly / quarterly reports on project status and ensure that cross-product dependencies are implied, planned for, and executed

  • Perform risk examination, develop contingency plans, and gather data from functions to proactively raise prioritization and scheduling tradeoff outcomes

  • Provides regular updates in form of status updates and stage gate review presentations with highlighting risks and mitigation plans to senior management

  • Works across the organization and external partners (as needed) to align functional help and input for the project

  • Ensures Project management processes are followed per relevant procedures by functional team members.

  • Contributes to Project management process optimization and strategies via lessons learned, resource leveling, process input and developing best practices

Qualifications
Skill/Job Requirements

  • Minimum four-year degree (Bachelor's degree or global equivalent) in a scientific field preferred; business, finance or related field will be considered in conjunction with experience. MS/MA/MBA is a plus.

  • 12+ years with a bachelor's degree or 10 years with a masters degree.

  • Must include hands-on experience with development and commercialization of highly technical medical devices. Prior experience in managing medical device software development projects is highly desired.

  • Expertise of Design Controls under US and International Regulations


Nice to have

  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff and consultant resources desired

  • Certification in project management (PMP, CSM) desired

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; proficient knowledge of program/project management software (e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, collaboration tools) desired

  • Excellent project management, planning, recommendation making, negotiating and change management skills

    • Knowledge with all phases of the project and product lifecycle including idea generation, concept, design, development, V&V testing and manufacturing transfer

    • Experience in studying tradeoffs between product features, customer needs/requirements and cost

    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data, set actionable goals and drive metrics and execution

    • Experience with Business Process Management

    • Experience with schedule, budget, cost and risk management tracking tools

    • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment.



  • Proven ability to drive, influence and work well at all levels of an organization and in a cross functional team environment

  • Seeks, recognizes, and executes solutions to resolve complex project challenges; routinely steadies the team when stressed

  • Proven relationship building, customer focus and facilitation skills

  • Excellent communication (written, verbal), presentation and documentation skills

Base Salary Range Region 1: $189,900 USD - $273,300 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $161,500 USD - $232,300 USD
Shift: Day
Travel: 10% of the time
Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.
