Job Description:


Wildcat has the ability to self-perform many types of civil construction including earthwork and site prep, concrete and asphalt paving, civil and structural concrete, rock excavation, piling and sheet piling, sub-grade stabilization, and water/waste-water treatment facilities. We also have a tremendous amount of experience with all underground utilities including sanitary sewer, water, storm sewer, and main electrical distribution.


The Sherwood Companies have a proven track record of completing a variety of projects from General Construction, to Construction Management and Design Build Projects for both public and private owners. A brief summary of the types of projects include, urban expressways, bridges, underground utilities, dam construction, asphalt/concrete paving and water/wastewater treatment plants. 






















































JOB DESCRIPTION


The incumbent will have oversight of very large construction projects. The responsibilities range from the actual physical construction of each segment to ensuring that environmental guidelines are met throughout the process. Field engineers are hands-on and spend a lot of time both in the office and out at the physical construction site. This role is classified as safety sensitive.

ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE




  • Assist the Project Manager and field construction supervisor in performing the day to day duties to facilitate and manage the pre-construction and construction activities

  • Preparing and tracking project submittals, assisting in maintaining the performance of each subcontractor, verifying compliance with the plans and specifications, and attending weekly and monthly job site meetings and other duties necessary for the successful completion of the projects

  • Work with project team members to develop schedule plan and progress strategy for each project.

  • Support the project with quality control analysis, coordinate with the inspectors to ensure the construction work meets standards specified by designers.

  • Scope and contract preparation, obtaining various permits, preparing and reviewing project schedules, estimating and verifying change order requests, responding to RFI's and responding to subcontractor and consultants project related questions,

  • Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility

  • Preparing weekly and monthly reporting to project team members.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE




  • Bachelor’s or associates in relative engineering field preferred

  • 0-5 years’ experience in related field
