The Electronic Production Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing ADTRAN production units to the component level.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Troubleshoot and repair printed circuit board assembly units down to the individual component level.

  • Utilize printed failure tickets (Functional test or In-Circuit Test) and failure data as a guide and reference towards isolating the failure point, troubleshooting, and repairing printed circuit board assembly units.

  • Understand the set-up, operation and functionality of the Test Equipment or ICT Equipment (Teradyne, GenRad, JTAG) that it used.

  • Utilize schematics, test logs, and written/verbal instructions as well as personal judgment based on specialized knowledge to troubleshoot, and repair printed circuit board assembly units per ADTRAN procedures.

  • Utilize work process sheets and drawings to effectively disassemble and then reassemble units for troubleshooting purposes.

  • Understand the set-up, operation, and functionality of Testing Equipment that is used.

  • Support Manufacturing operations with equipment Repair and Test issues.

  • Analyze failures for trends.

  • May assist in troubleshooting, repairing and fabricating test equipment.

  • Debug and investigate Test Equipment Failures.

  • May perform minor soldering repairs.

  • Ability to perform measurements using basic laboratory equipment such as voltage/current meters, oscilloscopes, etc.

  • Work on multiple and varied assignments and be able to recognize and indicate where any deviation from accepted practices is required.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Electronic Technology or Military equivalent training and experience.

  • 2 - 5 years prior experience as an e electronics manufacturing field and/or testing required.

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required.

  • Must be able to complete ADTRAN Level 2 Solder Certification.

  • No travel is expected in this position.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • C++ training is a plus, not required.

Essential Mental and Physical Qualifications:

  • The employee must walk and stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 45 pounds without assistance on a repetitive basis and lift materials greater than 45 pounds with assistance.

  • Manual dexterity with hands and fingers is necessary to make quick, precisely coordinated movements to grasp, manipulate, and assemble very small objects on a consistent basis.

  • Must be able to frequently extend or reach with hands and arms while performing routine job functions including scanners, hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.

  • The job will require occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

  • Employees may be exposed to solder fumes in a tested and safe environment.

  • The job will require the employee to possess the ability to see and interpret instructions, warnings, safety hazards, colors, and procedures, the ability to hear alarms and pages, to listen for safety hazards, to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences in English, and the ability to communicate with peers through spoken words in English to complete job requirements.
