Consultant – Corporate Communications, Executive & Business Communications

Position Summary    

This role supports strategic corporate communications with a focus on executive and business communications. This role spans both internal and external communications and should be an experienced, proficient writer of both long- and short-form content with an ability to craft content in the voice of various leaders.

Responsibilities              

The Consultant – Corporate Communications, Executive & Business Communications should be ready to jump into this role with energy and creativity while focusing on maintaining high-quality content. Internal content will range in developing anything from shorter messages on behalf of leaders to address needs of the day to support drafting internal ‘social’ content for Viva Engage to developing executive talking points on a variety of topics/needs. External content will largely consist of developing ongoing executive social, longer-form articles and additional communications which may include executive speech scripts, presentations, press releases and more. Candidate will be someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines, adapt to changing needs and priorities, and maintain an overall nimble yet unflappable mindset. This position will report to a Corporate Communications Senior Advisor.

Responsibilities include:

• Create and/or customize core communications packages to support corporate communication and employee engagement.




• Internal communication covering topics ranging from Elanco Healthy Purpose, investor relations news, corporate news, human resources, change management, DE&I, IT, and innovation.




• Implement the day-to-day execution of communications plans.




• Create quality, catchy content for use across internal communications channel Viva Engage.




• Develop engaging, executive social copy.




• Draft longer-form articles with proficiency to address complex topics.




• Support development of other communications that may include executive speech scripts, presentations and more.




• Other Corporate communications responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree




• 5-7 years’ experience in communications or marketing within a corporate or agency environment experience.




• Strong writing skills are a must.




• Experience with executive corporate communications is a plus.




• Strong editing skills and fluent knowledge of AP Style is expected.

Additional Skills/Preferences

• Outstanding communication skills, oral and written, including digital and video etiquette.




• Ability to synthesize and shape complex issues/opportunities into simple communication materials.




• Self-starter, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize, and experience managing deliverables under tighter deadlines.




• Capability to develop PowerPoint slides that clearly articulate key messages and present information in a digestible way for a variety of internal audiences.




• Corporate communications exposure – either within company or on agency side.




• Additional personal or business experience involving pet health or livestock.




• A positive and contagious attitude for effective communications.




• Demonstrated ability to interact with people of varied backgrounds,

       education levels, and organizational levels.

Additional Information

• Up to 10% domestic and international travel.
