Job Description
This position hours vary 6 am to 6 pm Monday-Friday. Supervises and integrates all daily and long-term planning for classroom in collaboration with support team and other classroom team members, Ensures social, emotional, physical, and educational needs of children are met based on the center's philosophy, curriculum, policies, and state licensing rules. Implements, evaluates, and communicates classroom programming, routines, and procedures. Manages classroom by completing necessary paperwork, training, evaluating staff, and problem solving with team and parents. Implements health, safety and security processes and procedures including CACFP meal counting. Participates in professional development and center-wide and university teams provided as well as individually planned.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in educa-early & middle childhood
Additional Education Desired
Master's Degree
Required Qualifications
Required:
At least one of the following: demonstrated classroom experience teaching children under six years, formal student teaching experience, or a P-3 certification; experience creating and implementing lesson plans and overall classroom management; ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents; current first aid, CPR, communicable disease, and child abuse recognition certifications and/or training within 120 days of employment; must pass Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation checks.
Desired:
3-5 years classroom experience in an early childhood center.
