Basic Purpose
Plans, directs and manages end-to-end projects designed to establish and maintain the company’s corporate compliance required to conform and comply with current and emerging North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) standards, Western Electricity Coordination Council (WECC) requirements, Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards (CIPS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act, Taxation, Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) and other corporate requirements for the Renewables organization. Leads Renewables regulatory compliance efforts and ensures project compliance with federal and state tax benefit requirements. Develops policies, procedures and coordinates the implementation of new compliance requirements through cross-functional teams representing the Renewables organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, directs, coordinates, and leads activities of project teams to ensure that compliance goals, objectives and all related deliverables are accomplished to achieve successful outcomes for the company within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Develops, manages, and updates Renewables department formal, written compliance programs in support of NV Energy and Berkshire Hathaway Energy policies.
Leads and supports regulatory compliance goals including drafting narrative and testimony for filings, rebuttals, data requests and may provide witness testimony for Renewables. Manages compliance directives and subsequent filings until the regulatory dockets for Renewables projects are closed.
Ensures projects are complying with federal investment and production tax credit and state sales tax abatement requirements and provides necessary documentation to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
Completes audit worksheets and/or develops reports as required to demonstrate compliance activities and provides to compliance team and/or regulatory entities as required. Ensures all processes, documentation, policies, etc. are up to date and meet current compliance requirements.
Establishes communications with directors and managers to identify potential areas of NERC, WECC, ISO, SOX compliance vulnerability and risk to ensure that ethical behavior and legal/regulatory compliance requirements are met. Serves as primary contact for the Commission Staff and other stakeholders regarding regulatory issues.
Works with Renewables leadership to ensure all compliance and regulatory activities are documented, planned, and completed on schedule.
Coordinates the company’s activities related to standards, reliability and critical infrastructure protection implementation and encourages the exchange of information, ideas, and techniques across business units. Coordinates with various Renewables personnel to develop and track all required training to ensure the standards are followed.
Monitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to position and company.

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school and 6 years of related experience.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.

Annual Salary: $115,900 (Min) to $136,300 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
