Starting Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 - depending on experience

General Position Summary:

Provide project management support for Project Managers and Account Executives through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document and deliverable control, and forecasting of costs and profitability. Support and collaborate with company superintendents, foreman, engineers, detailers, and management to deliver quality and profitable projects.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Assist in the bid process and the procurement of new work.

2. Assist with estimating and negotiation of change orders.

3. Track, forecast, report labor hours and material costs.

4. Buyout major equipment and subcontracts.

5. Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials.

6. Maintain working knowledge of general conditions, work scope and specifications of project contract/subcontract.

7. Maintain and control documents in compliance with UMC Standards as well as contractual compliance.

8. Submit appropriate permit applications & coordinate to completion. Coordinate all inspections.

9. Collaborate with field labor supervision to plan, organize and schedule project work including preparation of subcontract/contract integrated project schedule.

10. Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications for scope.

11. Coordinate equipment start-up and/or commissioning. Ensure required warranty paperwork is completed and submitted (as requested or required).

12. Coordinate owner training and project acceptance.

13. Ensure full compliance with UMC Safety Program and deliver SSSP as needed.

14. Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee's essential job functions.

15. Apply for, track, and process work recovery from union locals.

16. Assist with management of subcontractors to include: issuing POs, getting COIs, and confirmation of scheduling.

17. Develop Schedule of Values/Billing under PM/AE guidance.

18. Coordinate with ops team to perform progress/final/retention billing.



Secondary Job Functions:

1. Maintain client relations.

2. Develop and retain mechanical systems knowledge including engineering, estimating, construction practices, and financial management.

3. As requested, attend company sponsored events with customers (i.e. lunches, dinners, golf, etc.).





Position Requirements

Skills Required to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:

• Ability to use estimating software to accurately estimate basic mechanical repair/retrofit work.

• Ability to lead and foster positive working environment.

• Ability to understand and communicate basic mechanical concepts.

• Advanced organizational and time management skills.

• Attention to detail – errors & mistakes can result in significant financial losses.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Strong work ethic – results driven.

• Ability to multi-task job responsibilities.

• Advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project, Access, and AutoCAD.

Supervisory Responsibility:

• None

Education/ Experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:

• BS or five (5) years project management or equivalent job experience

• Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering degree desired.

Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required:

• Maintain a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
