A day in the life



Our Accounting team oversees the company's financial well-being while supporting operational and business planning in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. We are entrusted to properly account for and report the business activity at our growing company. As a Corporate Accountant, you will collaborate with various members of Finance and Accounting teams to record, review, research, analyze and report financial activity in corporate-related financial statement areas. We are looking for fast-learners and go-getters with a great attitude interested in joining a company with long-term career growth opportunities. You should have a strong background in analytics, data analysis, great eye for detail, curiosity, and a strong commitment to process improvement.



Key responsibilities include:



  • Record and review financial transactions for assigned bank and corporate-related accounts for multiple entities in accordance with US GAAP and company policies. Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation in compliance with US GAAP and company procedures.

  • Prepare account reconciliations for cash and corporate-related accounts to assess validity, accuracy, and appropriateness of balances; prepare adjusted entries when required.

  • Research variances and resolve issues related to unreconciled or unposted activity by contacting the appropriate individuals to gather information, escalating matters appropriately, and proposing and implementing solutions.

  • Analyze and explain variances independently for assigned cash and corporate-related financial statements areas (budget / forecast-to-actual, month-to-month, and between multiple systems/sources).

  • Report financial statement results in writing and verbally to management and auditors.

  • Embrace our data analysis tools to streamline accounting activities by refining existing processes and development new capabilities.

  • Accurately complete monthly close within three days and meet all other established deadlines.

  • Understand our accounting data, ledger, ownership structure, intercompany relationships, and foreign currency activity and apply knowledge to daily tasks.

  • Utilize various financial systems effectively to complete assigned tasks, including Peoplesoft and Sigma.

  • Other duties as assigned, which may include additional tasks within the Corporate team or other accounting departments (Property, Real Estate and Strategic Capital)




Building blocks for success




Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a degree with an Accounting concentration (interested candidates graduating within three months will be considered)

  • 1 year of general accounting experience or at least six months experience with the Prologis Accounting team

  • Proficient in MS Excel and adept at learning new systems. Peoplesoft general ledger and Sigma computing experience a plus

  • Conscientious, detail-oriented and produces accurate financial reports within required deadlines

  • Able to communicate effectively and efficiently across the functional and cultural lines of a fast-paced, multinational company and is cognizant of situations where supervisors need to become involved

  • Familiar with standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Strong work ethic with high sense of personal accountability that embraces change

  • Proactively able to manage time well and prioritize workload with limited guidance from supervisor



Hiring Salary Range of $58,000 - $80,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate's location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
