Our client is currently looking for a Controls/Automation Engineer for a Manufacturing company located in Columbia, SC.

What you'll do
- Dive deep into detailed electrical design and automation programming for assigned projects.
- Control, program and troubleshoot equipment using your Controls engineer experience
- Estimate and schedule all phases of process equipment additions, replacements, or upgrades.
- Become a champion for our plant maintenance teams - provide backup support and training on new automation systems.
- Collaborate with internal support groups to achieve our goals and lead contract engineering projects when needed.
- Be an integral part of major capital projects, from equipment arrival to commissioning and acceptance.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-mechanical Engineering, or Associates Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Controls/Automation
- Familiarity with electrical design standards and design tools like standard CAD.
- Experience with PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, GRAFCET, Structured Text) and software (Rockwell, Siemens preferred).
- Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives and Motion Control technologies (Rockwell, Siemens, Control Techniques a plus).
- Experience configuring and programming HMIs (Rockwell a plus).
- Prior experience in project leadership or management is a benefit.
- Experience with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Adept, etc.) and robotics (Fanuc, ABB) is a plus, but not required.
