Position: Senior Software Engineer



Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086



Duties: Build and maintain highly scalable, high performance, multi-tenant based robust distributed java applications. Build large scale data pipelines using big data technologies including Spark, Kafka, Cassandra, Hadoop Map-Reduce, HDFS, Hive, and Couchbase. Design and develop low latency, fault-tolerant data systems that process large volumes of data. Work on real-time indexing pipelines and batch processing pipeline with distributed infrastructure. Work with code quality governance related tools such as IntelliJ, Git and JIRA. Create dashboards for metrics visualization using graphite and graphene. Collect and analyze logs generated by application with Elastic Search. Enable Vertical and Customer experience by indexing additional attributes in the Solr search engine and Couchbase database. Extract catalog data from the data warehouse to indexing pipeline and various data source to enable search engine of Walmart.com. Develop web applications with frameworks such as Spring and continuous integration and related tools Jenkins and Maven. Design Cloud computing strategy to migrate and implement data pipelines to Google Cloud Platform. Evaluate and fine tune systems for speed, robustness and cost efficiency. Troubleshoot production issues as necessary.



Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.



Skills required: Experience building Java components and artifacts using Maven. Experience consuming and producing notifications in real time. Experience with MacOS for development. Experience using IntelliJ for development and local testing. Experience with development and deployment using Linux operating systems. Experience scripting with Linux Shell. Experience with project tracking and planning tools including JIRA, Kanban, and SIM. Experience with continuous integration tests using TestNG. Experience with Git as a code repository and code review. Experience using database including SQL and NoSQL. Experience with Cloud including GCP, Azure or AWS. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.




Salary Range: $182,073/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
