SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified ML Data Science Engineer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: The SEACORP AI/ML team is engaged in the development of AI/ML based solutions for Defense-related applications. Our team’s goal is to explore modern techniques in AI/ML and identify opportunities to leverage these techniques for new or improved capabilities (e.g., anomaly detection, signal classification) or efficiency enhancements (e.g., information retrieval).

We are looking for a ML / Data Science Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience developing, deploying, monitoring, and managing multiple machine learning products simultaneously. The candidate will be independent, self-sufficient and maintain a strong sense of ownership and accountability over their work. They will have high standards of excellence, a drive for continuous learning and improvement, and ability to prioritize and balance competing needs. The individual filling this role will assist with building a variety of models and tools, trained for specific use cases, hardware requirements, and customers.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or related field, or suitable combination of education, experience and training.

Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in data science, ML model development, orchestration, deployment, monitoring, and/or support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Python.
  • Proficiency in git (or other version control software).
  • Good understanding of at least one ML toolkit (preferably Pytorch).
  • Experience working on a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.
  • Self-motivated, self-managing, strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong technical communication skills.

PreferredQualifications:

  • Experience with containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • 3+ years of experience in Software Development or Computer Engineering or related field using technologies such as: Python, SQL, and Java
  • Understanding and experience with implementing MLOps practices
  • Grant writing experience
  • Experience with data acquisition via APIs

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
