Job Description:


Basic Job Functions:




The Accountant fulfills an integral transactional and reporting function in the Finance Department with a focus on customer service to both internal and external customers. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:


  • Assist with all weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly closings

  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures complying with federal, state and local financial legal requirements and Nucor accounting policies

  • Accounts Receivable-generate daily invoices, apply appropriate sales tax and resolve issues as they relate to invoicing

  • Cash Management-apply customer payments timely, process daily deposits and reconcile bank statements

  • Customer Credit Functions, including collections and lien documentation

  • Accounts Payable-process intercompany account payable transactions

  • General Ledger-maintain select general ledger accounts reconciliations

  • Tax Reporting-process the remitting of monthly sales tax

  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing job responsibilities

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:






  • 4-year degree in Accounting

  • 2-3yrs of experience in Accounting





Preferred Qualifications:






  • CPA or CMA

  • Prior experience with Sales Tax reporting and regulations

  • Working knowledge Microsoft Dynamics 365
