Are you a self-starter with marketing experience in supporting both overall business/sales development and creating/executing strategic marketing plans in the retirement industry? Prudential is hiring for a Director, Strategic Marketing for our Retirement Strategies business, who will be responsible developing both comprehensive marketing programs and for partnering with key senior leaders in their creation of key business cases and business proposals. There will be an emphasis on the development of supporting content across our new business growth areas including Contingent Deferred Annuities, new technology platforms and in plan income solutions. This person will have a robust appreciation for the efforts it takes to stand up and establish new businesses in the retirement market and will be proactive in anticipating the business’s needs with the ability to identify key opportunities that will drive the businesses’ goals.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis in our Newark, NJ, Fort Washington, PA or CT offices as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

This individual will work closely with senior business leaders in translating complex business proposals and sales pitches into simplified and convincing narratives that will be used both internally and externally with key business partners like Broker Dealers. In addition, the individual will be expected to develop and implement strategic marketing plans across our various products as well as thought leadership for our Growth Markets. This role will work across all of the Retirement Strategies businesses including Individual, Institutional and our Growth Markets. An analytical approach will be vital as we look to use data, metrics and analytics to drive engaging marketing content.

What you’ll need:


  • 10 years of marketing or business experience within the retirement markets space with a preference for Annuities and in plan income solutions.

  • Solid design and writing capabilities with a preference for Adobe expertise

  • Exceptional presentation development skills with the ability to take complicated messages and simplifying them for various audiences.

  • Significant exposure and understanding of the sales process, and successfully creating, implementing and measuring impactful marketing programs

  • Experience in developing thought leadership content that positions our business as an industry leader with a clear and impactful point of view. Focus on both strategy and the actual content development.

  • Demonstrated project management skills, very organized with high attention to detail, and excellent follow-up and follow-through

  • Significant brand building experience through the integration of key messaging platforms across all required work

  • Significant experience in partnering directly with senior level leaders

  • Independent self-starter who takes ownership of their initiatives and projects

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills—experienced marketing storyteller

  • Demonstrated experience with B2B and B2B2C

  • Experience developing sales leads programs

  • Excellence in developing omni-channel marketing campaigns with a focus on performance-based marketing

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $148,800.00 to $201,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
