Job Description for Associate Director of Business Development-Global Programs

The successful applicant will have extensive international business development experience specifically identifying, securing and growing strategic alliances with foreign entities such as government organizations and institutions, consortiums, technology hubs, incubators, and universities. The candidate will have experience managing a global business organization and be resourceful, organized and motivated to increase sales, enhance the organizations reputation globally, and look for new and creative ways to market our services/offerings, with the goal to establish and grow global partnerships and collaboration for R&D, economic and workforce development at NY CREATES and in semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NY CREATES International Global Affairs Business Development efforts.
  • Manages a number of Business Development Associates and Global Business Development Program Managers and Managers in foreign offices.
  • Is the business face and liaison to international delegations and individuals from across the globe.
  • Leads the creation of international relationships with those foreign governments, organizations and corporations pertaining to NY CREATES.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the business team, technical team, and other departments, to promote NY CREATES International Affairs.
  • Work with other organizations such as ESD, CEG and Global NY teams to develop and implement advocacy messaging to international delegations and visitors, speakers and Trade Missions.
  • Coordinate virtual and in-person international business and visits, including pre-arrival planning, activities while international delegations are on site, and post visit follow-ups.
  • Attend technical trade shows, conferences, and partner programs and present 1-2 times per year to advance NY CREATES presence at these events.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of global qualified prospects.
  • Conduct benchmarking and research on international consortiums, markets, business opportunities, potential prospects, and competing organizations.
  • Work closely with staff across all departments to implement revenue growth strategies.
  • Work closely with technical team to identify potential Join Development Programs with applicable foreign entities.
  • Assist with drafting sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other documents as required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements for Associate Director of Business Development-Global Programs

  • This position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or science.
  • Over 10 years of international business development experience and 5 years in a semiconductor or other technical role.
  • Individual possesses the ability to interface with international organizations at various levels within the organization and have managed international offices and distributors in support of organization international outreach.
  • Must have extensive experience with international contracts/agreements drafts and negotiations, and other international business skills.
  • Travel required 20% minimum.
  • This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's in engineering or science OR an MBA accredited by the U.S Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • 10 -15 years of relevant work experience with building and growing international sales, distributorships, contracts, marketing, business management, business negotiation, and business strategy in semiconductor R&D facility or similar.
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience in technical engineering in semiconductor R&D environment or similar.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, and previous international and domestic travel experience.
  • International commercial interface experience and ability to articulate NY CREATES business clearly and effectively.

Salary Range: $110,000- $140,000

*Posted salary rates are determined upon education and experience.
