Job Purpose/Summary:



This position is primarily responsible for leading domestic and international operational audits for Tyson's Internal Audit function. This includes leading approximately 20 plant-based audits annually across Poultry, Prepared Foods, Fresh Meat, and the International Business Unit.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:





  • Lead and direct the activities for operational audits, with accountability for the planning, alignment, execution and reporting of audit activities

  • Meet with cross-functional leadership teams (e.g., FSQA, Safety, HR, Operations, Finance, Environmental) to perform risk assessment and align on the annual cross-functional audit scoping, site selection and schedule

  • Responsible for helping to manage the global facility self-assessment process and ensuring that identified action items are closed out across the network.

  • Lead cross-functional audits and provide value-added consulting for process and control enhancements to the business

  • Support the hiring and development of the audit team

  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer with ethics investigations

  • Support the advancement of data analytics to automate tasks, expand audit coverage and increase Internal Audit team efficiency

  • Interact with senior leadership across the organization to lead and direct assessment of risks and processes related to Tyson Foods global business

  • Proactively lead strategic initiatives to advance audit programs, enhance audit effectiveness and support Audit Services team growth and development

  • Provide a broad understanding of the food production industry business model and a deep understanding of business processes


Requirements:





  • Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred. Prior plant operations experience strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 10+ total years of operational experience

  • Experience working in food manufacturing and warehouse facilities required

  • Experience managing teams and proven staff development capabilities

  • Experience working on cross-functional projects and initiatives

  • Demonstrated delivery of productivity and value-added business solutions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • SAP experience preferred

  • Experience using Power BI preferred

  • Ability to travel 25-35%
