When you work as a Lab Coordinator in the Pharma LC-MS/MS group at KCAS, you get to further our mission by supporting the Pharma Operations personnel and others to support critical equipment, reagents, and supplies of project life cycles. 

The Pharma LC-MS/MS lab team uses their knowledge in GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and GCP (Good Clinical Practice) methods to support clients' regulatory submissions for drug discovery, preclinical, and clinical studies, including bioanalysis of drugs and metabolites, biomarkers, and active endogenous compounds in biological fluids and tissues.

In this role, we will rely on you to:


  • Promptly communicate potential laboratory issues related to materials and equipment that can delay or impact work initiation, completion, or workflow, and help resolve issues as needed

  • Order laboratory materials and follow-up with purchasing department to ensure all materials and consumables are in place at the appropriate time

  • Work with the laboratory work groups to ensure all laboratories are audit ready.

  • Participate, respond, and act as point person for facility audits (e.g., ensure expired solutions are removed from laboratories, monitor organization and cleanliness)

  • Maintain, update, and develop Pharma specific laboratory training modules including reviewing relevant SOPs

  • Work with subject matter experts to ensure that personnel are trained in proper laboratory techniques

  • Ensure that personnel are following proper safety procedures

  • Work with Operational groups to establish, maintain, and monitor laboratory supply inventory minimum on-hand, safety stock, and order quantities, track supply metrics

  • Maintain freezer/refrigerator inventory

  • Ensure the lab has appropriate equipment to do their work

  • Work with relevant Pharma process improvement and committees to ensure that laboratory is maintained in a functional and efficient manner

  • Work cross-departmentally to support negotiation of discounts and consumables contracts with preferred vendors

  • Manage Pharma Laboratory Operations Support staff, ensuring all aspects of routine laboratory tasks (e.g., solution preparation and any verification within the lab that is needed) are appropriately prioritized and delegated and support for the Pharma department primarily and other operations business units as needed

  • Coordinate rotating schedule of semi-annual laboratory deep cleaning activities

  • Coordinate rotating schedule for maintenance and verification of instruments and equipment such as pipettes, freezers, etc.

To qualify specifically for this role, you will have:


  • BS/BA degree in a scientific-related field required, with minimum 3 years' experience in CRO, Pharma, or Biotech industry

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above

  • Experience in a customer-focused work environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and capable of working collaboratively across departments

  • Strong attention to detail, with demonstrated analytical skills and accuracy

  • Self-motivated and deadline driven

  • Possess genuine interest in learning new software and processes needed for workflow coordination
