Position Overview

The Payroll Functional Specialist is responsible for the SAP Employee Central Payroll solution/ and Tiem and Attendance solution by Workforce. The incumbent participates during the implementation of Success Factors and Workforce software, and then run the ongoing maintenance of the system and the integration with other systems and vendors. The Payroll Functional Specialist works with business owners to review business processes, performs system configuration, implements and supports integrations and assists business users with H2R requests.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Work closely with the business units across all CRH divisions, implementing and supporting Success Factors Employee Central Payroll ( US and Canadian payroll) and Time and Attendance by Workforce

  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve requests from Payroll and HR business teams in a timely manner.

  • Execute project activities related to Payroll and Hire to Retire functions ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

  • Perform HCM configuration checks and recommend changes when necessary

  • Proactively anticipate project deviations related to Hire to Retire area and escalate the need for immediate corrective action

  • Assist in the validation of as-is and to-be Hire to Retire processes and identifies improvement opportunities

  • Facilitate requirement workshops with Payroll and HR teams.

  • Maintain documentation library for design, configuration and training material related to Payroll and HR processes.

  • Support integrations with internal and external systems.

  • Follow IT standards, documentation, development methodologies as related to support and development activities.

  • Assist with performing integration, unit, and user acceptance testing, including preparation of test cases and writing test scripts for Payroll and HR processes.

  • Support security design and maintenance as required, including oversight of approvals for changes, ensuring they meet organizational standards.

  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve support calls from Payroll, HR, Pension and Benefits groups.

  • Supports cross functional priorities

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

Work Experience: 10+ working experience as SAP HCM functional consultant including payroll implementation and support.

Education: Bachelor's/University Degree or equivalent experience

Additional Education Preferred: SAP HCM Training

Other Training/Certifications: SAP Success Factors Employee Central Payroll Certification

Knowledge/Skill Requirements


  • 10+ years of experience in full Payroll Implementations in the SAP solution.

  • Strong hands-on experience on configuring and supporting HCM modules.

  • Understanding of the integration between SF and S/4 Hana is essential.

  • Participated in at least 3-5 SAP full-cycle implementations.

  • Experience in managing customer expectations and building relationships

  • SAP Success Factors experience and experience with Workforce software is required.

  • Experience with Payroll Control Center; Wagetypes, Schemas, Retroactivity, Terminations, Forms, Gross to Net, Infotypes, Payroll Reports, Bank Transfer, Payroll Posting, Posting of Payments, 3rd Party Remittance, Advance Payments, Gross Up, Remuneration Statement, Payroll Accruals, Month-End Accruals, Garnishments, Earnings, Deductions.

  • SAP Time Management configuration skill are desired.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to operate and adapt in an ever-changing environment to changing requirements and priorities

  • Customer Service mind set

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
