As part of a team, the Acquisitions Specialist performs a variety of library information acquisitions tasks including ordering, receiving, and invoicing of library materials in all physical and digital formats. Collaborates with other team and department members to provide excellent services to library personnel and to the Dartmouth community. In addition to general knowledge they also provide expertise in one or more specific acquisitions activities.Working closely with both vendors and selectors, the person in this position ensures that selector orders are placed accurately and in a timely manner. Trains others in various acquisitions activities and mentor new members of the department. Continuously looks for ways to improve workflows.
Associates plus 3+ years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
● Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and technical problem solving skills.● A demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex and changing digital environment.● Familiarity and experience with library resources such as journals, databases, and monographs.● Familiarity and experience with library management systems.● Customer service experience.
● Bachelor's degree.● Familiarity with or expertise in the library management system currently used by Dartmouth Library.● Familiarity with basic accounting procedures.
