Advertised Job Summary:

The faculty of the department of statistics at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a full time, professional-track position at the rank of Senior Instructor to begin January 1, 2024. The position is a 9-month appointment with a teaching load of 8 courses for the academic year. This is an annual appointment that may be renewed contingent upon Dean's approval, satisfactory performance, departmental needs, and the availability of funding.


The successful candidate will teach introductory statistics courses to a variety of audiences. They will also provide service to the department according to department needs.


The Department currently consists of twelve tenured/tenure-track faculty and eight full-time instructors. The department has about 35 full-time graduate students and offers PhD, MS, and BS degrees. Required Education and Experience:

Candidates must have a master's degree or higher in statistics or a related field and at least five years of full-time university teaching or an amount of teaching experience equivalent to that.
