Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and coordinating recruitment and outreach activities for the Admissions Office. Serves as the primary resource for applicants and assists in the review of application files and records.

  • In collaboration with law school departments (i.e. Career Services), leads the college's juris doctorate recruitment, yield, and incoming class retention strategies.

  • In collaboration with the Assistant Dean for Admissions, is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing data-driven recruitment and outreach strategies with regular monitoring of outcomes designed to ensure that the College meets its applicant pool goals and ultimately enrolls a class meeting various targets set. The development, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of these strategies require the creation, use and tracking of e-mail campaigns and social media in coordination with the law school's Communications Office, the deployment of alumni; and the organization of on-campus and virtual recruitment events and travel to recruitment fairs, individual speaking presentations, and related events off-campus.

  • Responsible for the end-to-end experience for applicants from the pre-application stage through orientation. This includes tracking applicants at the various stages of the application process, managing follow-up, and engaging applicants at all stages of the process. Utilize admissions database to retrieve data from the Law School Admissions Council in order to assist in recruiting prospective applicants; creates and runs reports to track recruiting event participants and responses to outreach campaigns.

  • Assists in the oversight of the application cycle. Oversees and implements distribution of enrolled and non-enrolled student surveys and collects, analyzes, and summarizes survey data and runs ad hoc reports as needed to make data-driven decisions.

  • Serves as the back-up for the Assistant Dean for Admissions and is member of the admission's management team. Participants in strategic planning, policy development, and staffing decisions. Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising staff to include but not limited to recruiting, hiring, training, delegating tasks and assignments and thoroughly vetting staff's work, and evaluating their performance on a consistent and regular basis.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and six years of experience related to academic and/or student services or a high school diploma or equivalent and the same experience equal to ten years. (Note: higher education may substitute for experience at an equivalent rate.)



Preferred Qualifications

  • JD degree is preferred.

  • Experience in graduate, or law school admissions strongly preferred.

Helpful

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

  • Work independently with many different law school and university constituencies, self-motivated and creative, and have strong problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills and extremely detail oriented.

  • Team player who will bring positive and enthusiastic presence to a collegial environment.
