Advertised Job Summary:

The Endowed Chair position is part of a state-wide SmartState
Program designed to integrate research activities across the state and to promote economic development. The SmartState Chair will have resources to build out a team to support research in cancer health disparities and build collaborations across USC in its two Schools of Medicine, and Colleges of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Social Work, in addition to collaborations with clinical researchers within Prisma Health. Prisma Health is the largest integrated health system in South Carolina, boasting a unified electronic health record, EPIC, from which a robust amount of research data can be accessed.The Cancer Health Disparities SmartState Chair will have an appointment within the USCSOMG Department of Biomedical Sciences, in accordance with their research and professional preparation. The selected candidate will also be affiliated as core faculty and lead for the Cancer Health Disparities Research Initiative which is an initiative under the USC Center for Health Equity


Required Education and Experience:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree in cancer biology, epidemiology, health services research or a closely related field, with an established record of extramural funding and high-impact publications in cancer health disparities research. The successful candidate will exhibit the following standards of performance: demonstrated expertise in interdisciplinary research collaboration; excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience in teaching and mentoring medical students, resident fellows, doctoral and post-doctoral students; and a commitment to promoting health equity and addressing health disparities.


Preferred Qualifications:
