The Sr. Controls Technician will provide excellence in factory floor support for a world-class organization. Ensure delivery of Factory IT/OT related services to the site and be the first point of contact for these systems. The Factory IT/OT role will actively resolve problems and issues to provide a near-continuous uptime of factory floor servers, applications, and HMIs to limit work disruptions within the company. Provide strategy for the IT/OT Asset Health Check program. Lead implementation of factory IT/OT projects following applicable global/regional standards.
Responsibilities
Maintenance, configuration, and operation of network physical and virtual servers.
Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate factory data acquisition systems.
Network and IDF maintenance and support. Manage IP addresses and switch port inventory.
Implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of site Historian and reporting solutions.
Administration of Thin Manager and thin client HMIs.
Responsible for cyber security compliance of the Factory IT/OT infrastructure.
SQL database monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning.
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and performance.
Communicate with shift-based production and maintenance teams to understand any breakdown or reliability issues.
Support factory IT/OT related after hours calls as needed.
Provide documentation and technical specifications to shift technicians for off hours factory support.
Support capital projects.
Manage and maintain factory floor hardware database and software licensing.
Provide support to vendors for factory network access.
Regular collaboration with the plant control systems group on projects.
Keep up to date of industry trends and make the necessary recommendations.
Requirements
3 years working in an IT or factory automation role, work experience in both is a benefit.
Work experience with the following software/hardware is a plus:
Microsoft Server 2012r2 - Server 2019
VMWare vSphere environment
Networks at a high level. Working within multiple Vlans/virtual networks
Active Directory
SCADA systems, HMIs, Thin Clients and Thick Clients
Data collection systems
Database systems including Microsoft SQL
Rockwell and Schneider PLC's
Aveva industrial software
Database applications including, Microsoft SSMS and PowerBI.
