The IT SAP Architect is a pivotal role, bridging the gap between business requirements and technological solutions that maximize the value of Medline's investments in SAP. This individual collaborates closely with both business and IT leaders, aligning technology initiatives with business strategies. The role involves influencing changes in business models, processes and organizations by providing insightful technology perspectives and analytical approaches to decision-making activities.

The Architect leads in providing analysis and design to implement business solutions, governs the development of high-quality technology solutions across a range of products, systems, and services, and supports business strategies by ensuring the delivery of expected outcomes during project execution. This role also involves maintaining project, program, and team alignment with architectural governance, standards, and best practices, with a special focus on SAP-centric design, integration, transformation (ECC to S/4HANA), and application modernization in the Cloud.

Responsibilities:


  • Formulates responses to business needs involving people, process, technology and information

  • Serves as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, with a specialized focus on SAP solutions, driving targeted business outcomes while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.

  • Collaborates with management, business leaders, IT architecture, and other stakeholders to connect the business roadmap with operational decisions, particularly in areas heavily dependent on SAP-integrated solutions.

  • Identifies the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impact of the solutions architecture.

  • Produces expert analysis, research, and designs for technical solutions that enable business capabilities, processes, and functions.

  • Researches and designs implementation strategies for new or alternate technologies that will further business goals and provide competitive advantages.

  • Stays abreast of current technology trends both in the industry as a whole and with the applications deployed in the landscape.

  • Coaches and collaborates with technical experts and EA peers in SAP and Cloud domains.

  • Leads technical design, analysis and realization

  • Defines the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure technical decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.

  • Leads evaluation, design and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, value-streams, business requirements and enterprise standards.

  • Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives, and documents all architecture design and analysis work.

  • Creates architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects and systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information) in a way that is directly actionable, clear and unambiguous.

  • Designs and directs the governance activities associated with ensuring architecture, development, and security compliance.

  • Works closely with the product owners and project/product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Provides consulting support to application teams to ensure the project/product is aligned with the overall enterprise, solution, and application architectures, especially those in the SAP Technology domain.

  • Coaches, mentors and collaborates with technical subject matter experts, application team members, and EA peers to implement architectures that enable and drive new business capabilities and operating models.

Qualifications:


  • Demonstratable experie nce in IT solution development disciplines, with significant exposure to SAP environments and Cloud technologies.
  • Led the evaluation, design, and analysis of solutions that meet business objectives in a complex SAP landscape (ECC, S/4, PI/PO, etc.) that adhere to SAP standards and best practices.
  • Designed end-to-end solutions leveraging SAP BTP services (such as Application Development using RAP/CAP, Integration Suite, Fiori, Analytics Cloud, Automation, etc.).
  • Experience providing guidance and mentorship to development teams on SAP BTP technologies and methodologies.
  • Developing technology strategies, product evaluations, and technical roadmaps.
  • Experience in SAP ECC to S/4HANA migrations and Cloud-based application modernization.
  • Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences.
  • Experience with various software deployment approaches (such as on-premises, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Multi-Cloud).
  • SAP implementation consulting experience with a proven history of success across multiple clients.
  • Leadership accountability driving SAP ECC to S/4HANA migrations,
  • Experience in working with multi-site global teams.
  • Experience architecting secure applications for Healthcare and are familiar with PHI, PII, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • Deep understanding of the SAP 'Clean Core' concept.
  • Expertise in SAP solutions, ECC, S/4HANA, and Cloud platforms.
  • Expertise in SAP system integration, business processes, common extensions, automation and emerging SAP technologies (such as BTP, Integration Suite, PI/PO, RPA, Low Code, BPM, etc.).
  • Techno-functional proficiency in SAP modules and associated business domains (Order-to-Cash, Forecast-to-Deliver, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report).
  • Experience with Data, BI and Analytics platforms (such as SAP HANA Side Car, SAP S/4 HANA embedded analytics, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Skilled in influencing, guiding, and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of various aspects of an enterprise technology architecture like business, information, data, network and security.
  • Ability to understand and apply various diagraming and modeling techniques.
  • Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of those technologies to evolving business and operating models.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of the company's processes, organization, customers, and business models.
  • Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders and IT development teams.
  • Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to enable future-state business capabilities that, in turn, drive targeted business outcomes.
  • Ability to remain unbiased toward any specific technology or vendor choice, and is more interested in results than personal preferences.
  • Understanding and knowledge of an Agile system development life cycle methodology (such as Scrum at Scale, SAFe, Kanban, etc.).
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations and how they relate to achieving targeted business outcomes.
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of technology alternatives.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of existing, new and emerging technologies that enable and drive new business designs and models.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, systems engineering or a related study.
