Position Summary:

Responsible for turning data into meaningful and actionable information that drives the improvement of healthcare quality. Works as part of a cross-functional team to improve processes critical to effective patient care. Extracts, analyzes, visualizes, and trends data to support quality programs, grants/research, process improvements, and regulatory requirements. The position provides consultation and support in operationalizing, developing, or interpreting metrics and data sources. Utilizes SQL, Tableau, and native Epic tools to uncover insights. The individual serves as a data model resource for Epic's Caboodle and Clarity databases and is responsible for validating and/or modifying existing foundation system reports.

Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Utilizes various business intelligence and analytic tools (e.g., SSMS, Tableau, Cubes, Statistical Packages) to generate and communicate insights that can be readily understood by a non-technical audience.
2. Interfaces and communicates with customers to define deliverables, issues, questions, needs, trends, and timing.
3. Generates ad-hoc reports to fulfill data requests from physicians, clinical staff, and leadership for operational and research needs.
4. Assists in Developing processes and methods for consistent data management, analysis, and interpretation, which includes maintaining code and documentation repositories to ensure continuity of data products.
5. Troubleshoots problems with dashboards/reports and communicates issues with code, source system, user errors or processes that may be affecting data integrity.
6. Reviews peer reporting for validity, quality, and standardization.
7. Learns and utilizes tools from the Cogito and Healthy Planet applications (e.g., Radar, My Panel Metrics) to build and display custom quality metrics.
8. Build and support of other Cogito and Healthy Planet tools to improve care coordination and population health.
9. Identify and investigate existing and new data sources that can be used to build a holistic view for the practice plan. Partner with technology teams to define, extract, transform, and load data from many data sources using SQL and other tools.
10. Work with a multidisciplinary Quality Improvement team to identify opportunities for QI projects. Monitor implemented QI initiatives using various techniques and tools (e.g., SPC charts).
11. Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Experience with SQL query tools such as Oracle, Business Objects, Microsoft SQL. Must receive Epic certification/certification-level proficiency for applicable module(s). Must receive a passing score (as defined by Epic), within two attempts, on all required exams and projects (as defined by Epic). Adept at working collaboratively in a team environment, proactively assists team members • Experience with data visualization e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools. Experience communicating insights to both business and technical teams in written and oral form. Familiarity with project lifecycle and project management methodologies for software management. Ability to plan and manage projects of various size; their tasks, dependencies, team members, other resources, and timeline.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, informatics, public health or a related discipline, or related experience in lieu of degree.

Minimum Experience:

One (1) of experience in a health care related field. Large scale health care systems planning and implementation experience on application software products preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
