Dr. Hongfang Liu's research program (ADVANCE Lab) and the Center for Translational AI Excellence and Applications in Medicine (TEAM-AI) at the McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics, University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston, is currently seeking to fill a Program Coordinator position. Ideal candidate for this role will have at least 3 years of experience with scheduling, maintaining calendars, travel itineraries and prior administrative experience in an academic, healthcare or research setting.

Position Summary:

Provides overall design, execution, management, and effectiveness of public education and/or outreach programs in order to ensure the achievement of its assigned goals and objectives.

Position Key Accountabilities:

• Assist with lab administration and coordination tasks, including:

o Developing and overseeing program budgets, including resource allocation planning and financial reporting

o Assist with lab organized academic and outreach events/activities

o Assist with hiring, etc. GRAs, etc.

o Preparing agendas/organizing lab-wide meetings

• Assist with managing timelines and deliverables for lab projects, ensuring that team members meet crucial deadlines and objectives with accountability and efficiency

• Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, UTHealth policies and procedures, and Regents rules.

• Other Duties as Assigned

Certification/Skills:


  • Knowledge of MS Office, SPSS or statistics software applications.
  • Bilingual in Spanish may be preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products, Project, Visio, etc.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

  • Three years of related experience.
  • May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
