Position Summary:

This RN, Assistant Unit Manager (AUM) position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of MemorialCare. The employee will support MemorialCare's strategic plan and demonstrates active support and participation in Lean initiatives for continuous performance improvement, patient safety and patient centered care. The RN, Assistant Unit Manager (AUM) is responsible for operational issues of the patient care department during their assigned shift. The RN, Assistant Unit Manager (AUM) is responsible for directing and coordinating all operations of the department according to the policies, procedures, standards and standard work that guide the processes for the assigned department. Responsibilities include the assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation of individuals and processes for the department to ensure consistent high-quality, cost-effective patient care. The RN, Assistant Unit Manager (AUM) has the responsibility to manage material and labor resources as defined in the departmental annual budget. The success of the department is inherent in the incumbent's ability to demonstrate positive, professional communication with patients, families, physicians, departmental and interdepartmental staff to optimize workflow and to facilitate problem identification and resolution.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.   • Current California RN license.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • A c urrent American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED), certification is required.
  • Technical Certification as required per area/unit.
  • Professional certification is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience is required in an area of similar clinical expertise.
  • Supervisor and/or nursing leadership experience is preferred.
