INTERNAL POSTING ONLY

Responsible for the operations of a large program or center at the university. Oversees staff, budgets, and projects.

  • Oversees a large department, program or center.
  • Manages budget and engages in strategic planning to ensure all goals are met.
  • Hires and directs the activities of staff.
  • Resolves personnel issues as they arise.
  • Engages in budget-planning, grant oversight, and policy development.
  • Implements new programs and projects and monitors ongoing activities of department or center.
  • Reviews department policies and processes and implements improvements as needed.
  • Represents department or center to internal and external constituents.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

    Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.

    The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following:


    • Experience working with student and student success measures - Higher Education is a plus
    • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, visual) used to advocate for new graduate programs.
    • Interact and collaborate with University leadership.
    • Service leadership skills including mutual respect, active listening, responsiveness, empathy, advocacy, and transparency.
    • Must be a multi-tasker, extremely organized, and have the ability to work in a face-paced, high-pressure environment, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to clearly interpret and implement policies and procedures.
    • Ability to develop, implement, advocate, and assess processes and/or programs designed to meet targeted strategic planning goals.

    Preferred Qualifications:


    • Master's Degree.
    • Experience with Graduate Programs
