Leidos QTC Health Services is seeking an Intern to support our growing Corporate Information Security (CIS) team.

This position will be a remote full time position as a summer intern. Part time during school months if desired.

As part of this role, you will be given tasks that are essential for the successful detection and handling of cybersecurity events on the Leidos QTC Health Services Enterprise. This internship is designed to give you practical experience, and Leidos QTC Health Services will provide you with real-world experience, technical guidance, and career mentorship throughout your internship. As a member of the CIS Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT), your responsibilities may include supporting a wide range of IT solutions that are crucial to the QTC CIS mission.

Responsibilities:

Support the CIS Operations CSIRT throughout the Incident Response lifecycle, tailoring an intern’s position to their individual strengths and experience to include:

• Assisting in the creation of clear and comprehensive documentation, including operating procedures, work instructions, and guides to support the QTC Incident Response Plan (IRP)


• Collaborate with CIS Engineers, Endpoint Security SMEs, Vulnerability Analysts and team leads to understand and document processes, workflows, and requirements.


• Review and edit documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to company standards.


• Research to gather technical knowledge of the cybersecurity technical tools and capabilities and apply that knowledge with hands on training with subject matter experts.

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree
  
  
  • Must be an enthusiastic and proactive learner with a passion for technology and cybersecurity processes.
  
  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  
  
  • Proficiency with operating systems such as Windows, Linux etc. is a plus
  
  
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols is a plus
  
  
  • Knowledge of current cybersecurity threats, such as malware, phishing, ransomware etc.
  
  
  • Must be willing to take and pass the CompTIA security plus certification exam within 6 months of your internship (Training and exam cost provided)
  
  
  
  

 

Pay Range: 

Freshman/Sophomore: $23 per hour

Junior/Senior: $30 per hour
