AT&T has an opening for a Network Management Service Designer to support the changing needs of the customer. The NMS Designer is responsible for designing and building components of scalable, secure web-based applications. The NMS Designer is also responsible for participating in the full application lifecycle including support of the application in production by researching and resolving production issues.

The job duties of the NMS Designer include the following:
  • Develop and maintain services including web, development, configuration management, etc.
  • Design, implement, test, and support network management-based applications and documents design ideas.
  • Participate in requirement gathering sessions, Collaborate with the team on application architecture design and decision-making.
  • Configures and tunes application servers, ensure cleanliness and optimization of code written in complied languages such as Python.
  • Participate in production troubleshooting and issue correction for applications after the production implementations.
  • Participates in production issues remediation and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Solve complex production issues.
  • Predict emerging customer needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them.


Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph. (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)

Required Qualifications: The candidate must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a doctorate and 3 years, a master's and 4 years, a bachelor's and 6 years, an associates and 8 years or a HS diploma and 10 years. Additional required qualifications include:
  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • Strong Unix/Linux system knowledge and administrator experience.
  • 4+ years of tooling and automation development experience.
  • Intermediate or higher knowledge of Python.
  • Extended knowledge of Application Programming Interface (API) design (JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), Representational State Transfer (REST), etc.).
  • Solid understanding of Layer 1-4 fundamental protocols.
  • SQL.
  • Knowledge of OpenText (Microfocus) Network Node Manager I (NNMi), Operations Bridge Manager (OBM), Network Automation (NA), Network Operations Manager (NOM).
  • Knowledge of Agile & Scrum Methodologies.


Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of standard networking monitoring technologies (Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), *Flow, etc.).
  • Knowledge on network device configuration and management.
  • Experience in automation on Management Software (Ansible).
  • Knowledge of Unit Test framework.
  • Knowledge of Riverbed.

Our NMS Designer (IT SE II) (Government) earns between $89,200 - $160,000 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
