PGIM Investments LLC (“PI”) Compliance is seeking an Analyst to be located in Newark, NJ to join its regulatory due diligence team. PI is an investment manager to the mutual fund complex within Prudential Financial, Inc. with over $250 billion in AUM. As part of its business, PI oversees a large number of affiliated and unaffiliated sub-advisers. The due diligence team provides compliance oversight of sub-advisers to the mutual funds, closed-end funds, and ETFs managed by PI. To facilitate this, the due diligence team performs regulatory due diligence reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of each sub-adviser’s compliance program.

The due diligence team monitors and reports to the mutual fund Boards on the sub-advisers ongoing compliance with Fund policies and procedures. The team is also responsible for assessing the compliance programs of certain key service providers. In addition, the team serves a center of excellence for third-party adviser due diligence throughout the Prudential organization.

It is anticipated that the Analyst will perform due diligence on the sub-advisers and key service providers, including initial, annual, and ad hoc reviews through a combination of virtual and on-site visits (as practicable), conference calls, and reviews of written questionnaires. The Analyst will prepare detailed reports of the diligence for recordkeeping and reporting to Fund Boards and management.

PI is the manager and/or co-manager to three fund complexes: the PGIM Retail Funds, Prudential Insurance Funds and PGIM Alternative Funds (collectively “PGIM Funds” or “Funds”). The PGIM Retail Funds include several open-end funds, ETFs, and closed end funds. The Prudential Insurance Funds consist of open-end funds that serve as underlying investment options for Prudential’s variable annuities business, group insurance business, individual life insurance business, and retirement business. The PGIM Alternative Funds include several funds that invest in private debt and private real estate. The PGIM Retail Funds, Prudential Insurance Funds and PGIM Alternative Funds are overseen by separate boards of directors/trustees (“Boards”).

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:


  • Review policies and procedures, RFPs, answers to compliance questionnaires, third party evaluations, and relevant regulatory developments prior to meeting with sub-adviser

  • Conduct virtual and, on-site examinations of the sub-advisers

  • Document findings and observations

  • Report findings to senior Compliance management

  • Draft related Board reporting

  • Facilitate implementation of innovative technologies and processes

  • Provide support for various ad hoc projects

  • Participate in forensic testing initiatives

What you’ll need:


  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 1-3 years experience at a registered investment adviser or mutual fund

  • Regulatory background in compliance, legal, audit or risk management

  • Solid understanding of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and Investment Advisers Act of 1940

The salary range for this role is from $83,400.00 to $124,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
