Job Summary

Provides System Engineering Services to support the identification, analysis, and resolution of complex systems engineering design issues involving platform, weapon, Command, and Control (C2), and fire control systems for Navy/Joint warfighting capabilities. Produces and reviews documentation, attends meetings, supports test events and a variety of other engineering or test related activities that will aid the customer in achieving major program milestones and product delivery. Drafts and manages system requirements. Demonstrates the ability to identify pursue, and complete program priorities with minimal oversight. Organizes and executes system test events. Develops system integration documents for weapons systems and weapons control systems. Works to achieve weapon system certification processes and requirements, specifically self-certification criteria for elements of Command and Control (C2), and fire control systems.

Telework is supported one day per week. Travel is required.

Responsibilities and Duties

Provides Systems Engineering for Command and Control (C2), or fire control systems program, with concurrent experience as a team leader performing system engineering and mission engineering efforts that include developing requirements, top level designs and system architectures for software intensive systems. Drafts and manages system requirements. Supports activities to produce and reviews documentation, attends meetings, supports test events and a variety of other engineering or test related activities that will aid the customer in achieving major program milestone decisions and concepts of operations (CONOPS) and initial design development from upper-level requirements. Experience dealing with issues for a system employing Government Off- The-Shelf (GOTS) software and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software technology.

Qualifications and Skills

Required knowledge and years of experience

Tomahawk Missile System Experience preferred, but ten (10) years professional systems engineering experience with a DoD major platform, weapon, Command and Control (C2), or fire control systems program, with five (5) years concurrent experience as a team leader performing system engineering and mission engineering efforts that include developing requirements, top level designs and system architectures for software intensive systems will be considers as well. This includes experience related to the identification, analysis and resolution of complex systems engineering design issues involving platform, weapon, C2, and fire control systems for Navy/Joint warfighting capabilities. Six (6) years specialized demonstrated expertise in total life cycle system development and analysis, supporting achievement of milestone decisions and concepts of operations (CONOPS) and initial design development from upper-level requirements. Experience dealing with issues for a system employing Government Off- The-Shelf (GOTS) software and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software technology. Demonstrated experience developing system integration documents for weapons systems and weapons control systems. Demonstrated experience with weapon system certification processes and requirements, specifically self-certification criteria for elements of these systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM disciple OR ten (10) years of demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to specific technical disciplines.

Certifications

Degree must be in a STEM / Engineering discipline, or have the notes years id direct technical experience.
