Overview
The Electrical Designer is responsible for technical requests, solving technical problems and communicating with support, interdepartmental personnel and occasionally with customers. This position will be based in Ripon, WI.
Responsibilities
Design and development of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical sub-systems and components
Write design specifications and test procedures
Design electrical sub-systems which include wire harnesses, timers, switches, motors, pumps, valves, contactors, and transformers
Utilize CAD software to generate electrical systems, harness designs and related schematics
Set-up, run and document tests on electronic components and sub-systems
Work with suppliers and in-house personnel on development of sub-systems and components
Understand and incorporate marketing specifications and regulatory agency requirements (UL, IEC) into sub-system designs
Work with manufacturing as needed to support production parts or support pilot builds
Use SAP enterprise resource planning software to locate information on usage of production parts and create markups for BOM changes
Write ECN’s (Engineering Change Notifications) to release new parts and drawing revisions for prototype or production
Qualifications
Education:
Associates Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Electro-Mechanical Technology preferred
At least 1 year of electrical/electronics design experience preferred
Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
Skills and Abilities:
Hands on contributor with strong written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated and excellent decision-making skills.
Experience using AutoCAD and Windchill.
Good working knowledge of PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to articulate technical information and provide comprehensive recommendations
Ability to manage projects and work in a project team environment
Strong attention to detail and a focus on business priorities
Work under minimal direction and guided by project objectives
