Background Information:
Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Training and Support Lead to be based in our San Diego office.



Overview:
The training and support lead will prepare and conduct training for IDT's flagship ATRT Enterprise Platform in classified and unclassified lab environments. This position calls for a detail oriented highly organized individual to work in a fast-paced environment, focused on customer satisfaction. The training and support lead will prepare training materials for new AEP features, conduct training events, and act as the first line of defense for customer issues. The training and support lead also assists software engineering teams by providing detailed customer feedback on designs, interfaces, and issues. Finally, the training and support lead works directly with engineering team as an on-site subject matter expert for one or more AEP applications providing engineering teams with detailed information about issues using log data and debug consoles.



All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance.




Responsibilities Include:



  • Develop training curricula for new product features.

  • Conduct training events with customers.

  • Train new trainers guiding them on methods to make materials more understandable.

  • Collect user feedback on issues, enter issues into tracking system, and produce reproducible steps to verify for engineering teams.

  • Summarize user feedback to engineering teams in the form of presentations and white papers.

  • Conduct on site troubleshooting support sessions with engineering teams in classified lab environments.

  • Provide engineering team support during on site sessions or remote debugging sessions to describe issues experienced on site


Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ year(s) of experience in engineering, software and/or testing environments


Required Skills:



  • Ability to develop new training materials and training curriculum

  • Ability to collect customer feedback and distill main issues experienced by the customer

  • Basic troubleshooting skills on modern computing systems (e.g. verify and resolve network connectivity)

  • Familiarity with Automated test tools

  • Executing software from a debug console, setting break points, evaluating variable values during execution


Preferred Skills:



  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or Math

  • 4+ years of experience operating US Navy tactical systems

  • Experience operating the US Navy Aegis, SSDS, CANES, ADNS, or radio systems.

  • Experience with software testing, test automation, and test tools

  • Understanding of test automation design patterns, and software testing principles and methodologies

  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Proficiency with source code control systems (e.g. Git) and bug tracking systems (e.g. Jira)

  • Proficiency in a Linux operating environment

  • Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript coding familiarity

Pay Range*:$85,500 - $139,650 or $102,600 - $179,550

Notably, however, this amount may not be reflective of actual compensation that may be earned as pay is dependent on a candidate's experience, skills, and education. IDT is often looking to place multiple candidates at various levels. Therefore, more than one pay range has been included, commensurate with experience.
