This position will advise and consult on implementation and enhancement of policies and processes, analyze data and generate information to identify barriers to retention and academic progression, create outreach to students identified as at-risk, and collaborate with academic advisors on students encountering academic or institutional challenges. The Persistence Coordinator will work directly with students and will advise any at-risk undergraduate student concerning their academic plans and progress, academic schedule, choice of major, and other academic activities and career goals. Persistence Coordinator will focus on specific subject matters that are identified as having persistence challenges or those who are "at-risk" for persistence or graduation. Persistence staff will also generate and submit proposals for various grants focused on improving key academic metrics. The Coordinator will also oversee several student staff who will assist the Coordinator and deliver workshops to various on-campus student groups.

This position has been designated as a CSA because it involves significant responsibility for student and campus activities and/or responsibility for campus security. As such, any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that your responsibility for students, campus activities and/or campus security will make you someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSAs responsibility is a duty to report.
