Job Description:

BASIC FUNCTION

The Information Technology Specialist has the responsibility of installing, testing, maintaining, and supporting all company provided computer hardware, software, peripherals, and systems, including patch management, asset inventory, security and monitoring, and the support of the phone system. Also, the position is responsible for answering IT tickets and calls from internal employees.


MAJOR ACTIVITES

1) Providing PC hardware and software technical support to all WEOKIE users at all sites, support for LAN/WAN connectivity and other communications issues, and executing activities on approved projects.

2) Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software related infrastructure. Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational requirements.

3) Performing network and systems administration (physical and virtual).

4) Performing system patch management and administration for asset monitoring, security, and inventory related tools and processes.

5) Serving as project leader or coordinator for IT related projects as assigned.

6) Facilitating all network, PC, and peripherals product procurement/repair and managing the relationships with the vendors of choice.

7) Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.


CRITICAL RESULTS

1) Ensuring that all defined systems and devices, under your area of responsibility, are fully operational and available to the employees with very little scheduled downtime.

2) Confidentiality and security are maintained regarding information systems assets.

3) Managing operating plans, priorities, projects, and other goals to ensure they are executed in a timely, efficient, and productive manner.

4) Maintaining agreements according to preset timelines for report requests, task assignments and project work; including keeping current with employee requests.

5) That all security and non-security upgrades/updates/patches to defined systems are thoroughly tested and implemented in a timely manner.

6) All activities are efficiently conducted, generally error free, and are completed following the appropriate policies, procedures, operational controls, and compliance controls.

7) Losses, errors, and risks are controlled and mitigated by adhering to all applicable policies and procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS

A. Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills: This position must be thorough knowledgeable at configuring/installing personal computer systems and peripherals and managing system vulnerability remediation. Being well-versed in the area of data backup and archival is also a must. In order to do so the following are required:

1) A Technical or Associates degree and two years’ experience or proven equivalent.

2) A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications are a plus.

3) Patch management experience.

4) Hardware and OS experience: Microsoft, Cisco switches and routers, network printers, MS Exchange/MS Outlook, and Microsoft Server.

5) Strong time management skills in technical environments and project management.

6) Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
