What You Will Do



Responsible for managing the assigned categories, delivering commercial agreements which optimise value for money for Indirect spends. Additionally, the Buyer is responsible to develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and deliver quality, supply, and cost performance across factories. Manage the relationships with the suppliers for the assigned categories.

Develop peer relationships and continually collaborate with key stakeholders ensuring that commercial delivery and internal service are equally balanced.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide Category and Procurement services for the purchase of all Indirect goods and services for the region.

  • Responsible for delivering commercial agreements which optimise value for money
  • Adhere to standard IB global procurement processes
  • Responsible for ensuring early procurement engagement in significant spend areas to maximise procurement's impact
  • Develop deep product and supplier knowledge to drive continuous improvement within the spend managed
  • Ensure contingency planning is in place for all key suppliers / services managed
  • Develop peer relationships and continually work with key stakeholders ensuring that commercial delivery and internal service are equally balanced
  • Raise instances of non-compliance to IB internal stakeholder ways of working (where this results in less than optimum benefits been realised)
  • Undertake adequate analysis and planning to enable effective supplier negotiations which deliver a world class cost base
Responsible for tracking benefits managed

Create and implement Procurement category strategies to deliver efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Review spend for cost opportunities, aiming for a yearly target reduction
  • Assist in the development of specifications for goods and services to be purchased
  • Invite, assess, and award/recommend supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals
Create and implement Procurement strategies to deliver efficiency and cost reduction
  • Support the roll-out of contract terms and conditions, and maintain supplier relationships
  • Manage relationships and performance of ongoing suppliers
  • Administer contract performance, including delivery, receipt, warranty, damages and insurance for selected contracts
  • Supplier pre-qualification (going through commercial and OH&S requirement to pre-qualify new suppliers (and put old suppliers through the process).
  • Reconcile or resolve value discrepancies
Ensure that ITGB is getting value for money and what was initially agreed in the contract



Qualifications



Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor Degree

Work Experience:
  • 3 years
  • Supervisory Experience
Related Work Experience:


Knowledge:

  • University degree preferably with a numerical basis
  • Sound knowledge of analysis in Excel
  • Sound procurement knowledge (tendering process, procurement terminology)
  • Strong PowerPoint knowledge

Skills:

  • Strong English - written and verbal
  • Sound office administration skills
  • Strong numeracy and analytic skills
  • Microsoft Office both Excel and Word
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Collaboration skills
  • Organizing and prioritization skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • 3 years specific Indirect Procurement experience
  • Procurement and category management experience
  • Tendering knowledge
  • Negotiation capability
Finance or accounting background desirable
