The department of Dermatology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Research Support Coordinator to work onsite on the UHealth campus. The Research Support Coordinator performs a variety of duties involved in the collection, compilation, documentation, and analysis of clinical and genetic research data for multiple assigned studies. Moreover, the incumbent organizes and coordinates professional development with the project team and acts as liaison between the University and project partners.



CORE JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Organizes, hosts, and participates in community education outreach activities to recruit study participants.

  • Serves as the primary contact person for referral sites.

  • Meets with study participants to explain the purpose of the study and study procedures and obtains informed consent.

  • Assists with the preparation and monitoring of IRB documents, administers clinical interviews, and coordinates all assessment and patient contact activity.

  • Tracks participants through all stages of the research program.

  • Ensures that relevant protocols are implemented in a rigorous fashion and supervises the implementation of data quality assurance procedures.

  • Handles petty cash for study activities and organizes data forms.

  • Participates in manuscript, report, and grant proposal preparation.

  • Monitors revenue cycle for external contracts and relationships, including functions outsourced, core and bolt-on technologies, specialty recovery vendors, and collection agencies.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Department Specific Functions



  • The research support coordinator will assist in organizing and extending further the activities at the Psoriasis Biologics Clinic at Jackson Memorial Hospital. This role will require active participation in both clinical and research settings in this area to work towards improving Psoriasis patients' health care and quality of life.

  • Contribute to the evaluation of whether the risk of mortality in patients with mild to severe psoriasis is altered by various biologic therapies.

  • Collaborate on clinical and research activities to evaluate the role of the Biologics with different mechanisms of action preventing CV disease risk factors.

  • Evaluate and compare the efficacy of various Biologics on the quality of life and psychological status of these patients in collaboration with a psychologist.

  • Increase screening efforts that will allow for earlier detection and intervention to reduce the substantial morbidity and mortality associated with psoriasis related comorbidities.

  • Present the outcomes of his/her clinical and research activities in the national conferences as well as peer review journals in the field of dermatology and Psoriasis.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
