Job Description
Primary Function of Position:

As a UX Writer at Intuitive, you will create and edit technical and design documentation for projects. The UXD team supports the development of new products, ensuring transparent records of designs are maintained.

You'll work with multiple teams to streamline DHF processes. Tasks include documenting design requirements, guidelines, specs, presentations, and archival work. Content creation spans user-facing documentation and product interfaces. The UX writer will review, edit, and collaborate with the design team to ensure clarity for all audiences.

This is a full-time on-site position in our Sunnyvale, CA Office.

Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Provide Design Controls support for the UXD team

  • Work with designers to develop and consolidate interaction design requirements

  • Work with designers to structure and develop design specifications

  • Work with designers, design control engineers, and system testers to streamline interaction design documentation processes.

  • Complete documentation control steps to release final documentation. This includes Engineering Change Order (ECO) work in a documentation control system.

  • Create structured templates for various activities, including design guidelines, specifications, PowerPoint presentations, work instructions, and more.

  • Write copy for user-facing documents or product user interfaces across multiple touchpoints.

  • Produce products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage documentation-related activities with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

  • A minimum 5+ years as a writer in a technical or medical device/life science environment or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field

  • Verbal communication skills include responding calmly under pressure and leading content review meetings that result in document approval.

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, PDF creation, BOX

  • Proven planning, decision-making, negotiating, and change management skills

  • Excellent writing and communication skills and attention to detail

  • Experience writing and reviewing engineering (design control) documents, including specifications, test protocols, and test reports

  • Experience with Polarion, Agile PLM system, or other requirements management tools is highly desired.

  • Experience working in collaborative design teams, understanding of user-centered design process and UX principles

  • Ability to switch between many different projects quickly or pivot when needed

  • Willingness to be flexible and manage unexpected project requirements

  • Ability to make progress on projects even when there are areas of ambiguity

Base Salary Range Region 1: $143,100 USD - $205,900 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $121,600 USD - $175,000 USD
Shift: Day
Travel: 10% of the time
Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.
