Primary Duties & Responsibilities 


  1. Process and review daily transactions including check files and exceptions, wire transfers, mobile deposits P2P transactions, card transactions and disputes, mailed in payments and deposits, unclaimed property, Canadian check processing and ATM processing.

  2. Process Fed adjustments, Co-Op adjustments and Fiserv adjustment

  3. Navigate a variety of complex technology systems with various processing functions and deadlines, meeting department Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

  4. Process and research ATM disputes and check disputes

  5. Communicates with members and internal partners to provide member service around anything related to payment services

  6. Respond to complex internal payment/deposit inquiries. Provides payment related assistance/support to branch network and member facing departments

  7. Works to support the overall payment processing functions and coordination

  8. Utilizes procedural and regulatory payment processing knowledge to maintain departmental standards and detect potential fraud. Escalates and reports instances of non-compliance, policy violation, and suspicious activity to area management, as appropriate

  9. Works cross functionally within Payments department as assigned

  10. Seeks ways to streamline work processes and continuously improve the Credit Union

Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in the financial industry with an emphasis on payment operations preferred. National Check Professional Accreditation (NCP) or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) preferred.

1.    Ability to quickly acquire and accurately apply knowledge of pertinent regulatory rules and regulations. 

2.    Ability to quickly acquire and apply working knowledge of Credit Union products, services, and policies.

3.    Working knowledge of core banking system and integrated technologies.

4.    Demonstrated time management and decision-making skills.

5.    Ability to understand/translate department business objectives into action items

6.    Professional written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

7.    Exceptional member service skills and demonstrated professional integrity.

8.    Proven ability to maintain confidentiality. 

9.    Proven ability to remain flexible and professional as conflicting priorities and deadlines shift.

10.    Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when interpreting policies and procedures, making exceptions as appropriate. Ability to make decisions, take-action and accept responsibility for results.
