Job Description:

Zingerman's Roadhouse Front of House Floor Supervisor
The role of the Front of House Floor Supervisor is to assist the shift Manager to ensure that the Zingerman's Roadhouse experience is delivered to all guests.

Part-time evenings, weekends and holidays required. Candidates must be able to work a minimum of two shifts per week, and Sunday availability is required.
Shifts will typically include Monday - Sunday

8am-4pm
1pm-9pm (10pm on weekends)


Compensation: $18.00 to $20.00+ per hour

Our Performance Expectations are:
Essential Functions

Supervises the front of house staff for each shift - ensuring staff are engaged and following all processes and systems to give our guests the Zingerman's experience
Assists shift manager to coach staff as needed with any employment, conflict or guest relation issues that arise
Expedites food efficiently and timely from kitchen during peak business hours
Updates Point of Sale System throughout shift as needed, including menu changes, 86'd items, etc.
Arrives on time for all scheduled shifts, classes, and meetings
Plays an integral role in the training of new team members
Stays until shift needs are met, effective morning transition to pm supervisor or coordinated effort with closing Front of the House manager
Manages end of shift tasks such as tip sharing, cash counting, and ensuring all side work and other assigned work are completed
Speaks knowledgeably about all menu items, including wines and specialty beverages
Communicates effectively with Front of House Supervisors/Managers, Back of House Line Cooks/Chefs on staffing, operations and any other shift information
Inspires co-workers and staff to work effectively as a team
Establishes and maintains good communication and a positive working relationship with all Roadhouse staff
Completes Supervisor Passport within the stated time frames and continues to live the Training Compact


Other Functions:

Updates Point of Sales systems as needed
Knows regulars by name and tracks their seating and dining preferences
Attends and sometimes leads weekly DOR huddles with staff.
Completes other duties as assigned.


The Success Patterns for this position are:

Has experience working in a seated restaurant
At least 6 months of supervisory or manager experience (or equivalent lead position) in a restaurant setting
Experience expediting food preferred
Comfortable using computers and Point of Sale Systems
Demonstrates a passion for working the front of the house
Has experience in the training and development of staff members
Has a reputation for excellent relations with all staff and guest
Has flexible availability to help cover shifts during peak times and when shifts need additional staffing

Physical Demands:

Bending, stooping, walking, and standing for long periods at a time
Must be able to safely relocate to up to 50 lbs, with assistance as needed
Must be able to balance and carry a tray with drinks and/or dishes
Must be able to ascend/descend between basement and main floor
