Job Description:

The Sales Manager for OES is responsible to set and execute regional strategic plans and drive commercial excellence for the assigned customers, including designated new entrant customers and ensure cross-functional alignment to the global strategy. The Sales Manager for OES also is responsible for monitoring emerging technology trends from OE counterparts, translating them into business opportunities for NA OES accounts. This position will foster deep relationships with the customer in engineering, purchasing, product planning, quality and strategy or any other relevant function. This role is responsible for shaping customer product portfolio planning, NA pricing and profit strategy, the P&L at the customer level, customer relationships and is responsible for the customer satisfaction within the NA region as well as understanding the technology, challenges and product requirements, and the value proposition that Clarios brings to our customers.

How you will do it:


  • Leads the development of OES and New Entrants Customer account(s) NA growth strategies to drive technology adoption, secure future business and increase profitability.


  • Develops a strong customer partnership relationship of the organization. Maintains frequent and regular contact with customer (purchasing, quality, product planning, and engineering). Enables customer relationship to be collaborative and leading edge to develop new product portfolio.


  • Manages cross-functional teams as commercial voice for program execution and launches, product ramp up and customer service.


  • Leverages internal research and category teams to educate the OES customers on market trends impacting their product line and recommend opportunities to increase coverage / profitability.


  • Oversees forecasting along with demand planning and facilitates customer communication with demand planning / production control regarding forecasts, seasonal orders, and line changes to optimize fill-rates and on-time performance.


  • Manage core return program for OES customers, including forecasting and reporting core volume internally, monitoring payments to distributors and keeping customer updated on return ratios.


  • Accountable for the NA OES and New Entrants customer business results and maintaining performance metrics including sales revenue, P&L, share, growth, and profitability.


  • Develops and executes global 10-year customer plan to ensure new business is won with advanced technologies at target profitability levels across the regions and functions.


  • Leads the negotiation of customer sales contracts for the NA market and prices as required.


  • Responsible for driving corporate objectives and priorities including increasing the focus on customer and market intelligence and delivering value added solutions.


  • Provides key input regarding customer expectations and satisfaction.


  • Responsible for overall customer satisfaction in the development and launch of new customer products.


  • Acts as a key advisor to the Sr. Sales Director and works collaboratively with all functional leaders.


  • Maintains / builds the Clarios industry leading reputation and image.


What we look for:


  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, engineering, or other appropriate discipline. MA or MBA preferred.


  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience; 5 years OES (highly preferred) or original equipment commercial and customer management experience, including Business Development.


  • “Hunter Mentality” with a strong strategic mindset and comfortable dealing in ambiguity.


  • Strong knowledge of automotive market and electrification trends (power train, vehicle architecture), including vehicle system integration.


  • Estimated travel 25%-30% domestically. 


Preferred:

  • Technical knowledge of flooded, Stop Start, AGM, Lithium-Ion batteries systems and connected services preferred.
