Title: 2nd Shift Custodial Manager



Institution: Jackson State Community College



Job Summary


Under general conditions, coordinates and supervises all aspects of daily and periodic cleaning of the colleges facilities. Supervisor will work Monday- Friday from 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.



Job Duties



  • 10% - Coordinate work schedules and assignments of all custodial members - (Marginal)

  • 25% - Provide supervision to all custodial members - (Essential)

  • 15% - Inspect work for conformance to cleaning standards - (Essential)

  • 5% - Conduct weekly meetings and training - (Essential)

  • 10% - Inspect and evaluate physical condition of buildings and submit recommendations - (Essential)

  • 10% - Perform custodial duties as needed - (Essential)

  • 5% - Determines priorities of work and assign personnel to accomplish - (Essential)

  • 5% - Ensure necessary equipment and supplies are always available - (Essential)

  • 5% - Coordinates setting up and cleaning up for upcoming projects and events - (Essential)

  • 2% - Evaluates performance of all custodial personnel - (Marginal)

  • 3% - Maintains inventory records, prepares periodic reports, submits purchase requisitions of supplies/equipment - (Essential)

  • 2% - Establishes and monitors working relationships with students, faculty, and staff - (Essential)

  • 2% - Coordinates setup for campus and college events - (Essential)

  • 1% - Performs duties as assigned - (Marginal)



Minimum Qualifications


- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Have 3 years of progressively responsible custodial work experience



Preferred Qualifications


- Supervisory experience preferred



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


- Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials
- Supervisory skills
- Be able to operate basic MS Office applications, i.e. email, Word, Excel
- Customer service skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal/human relations skills
- Ability to plan and organize
- Ability to move throughout the campus and lift up to 40 lbs



Pay Rate: $34,061 - $40,873 ($17.47 - $20.96 per hour). Annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.
