JOB TITLE/LOCATION:
Human Resources Generalist – West Trenton, NJ
Position Summary: The successful candidate will serve as an HR Generalist in support of the RBC manufacturing facility located in West Trenton, NJ. This role is responsible for leading or assisting with a broad range of generalist functions including but not limited to recruitment, benefits administration, employee/labor relations, workforce planning, and site reporting. This individual will be a resourceful and proactive team member, who will help support division HR strategies, programs and processes that deliver the people results required to meet business strategy and challenges.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Engages in overall talent practices including workforce planning, success profiling, on-boarding, talent development and management, retention, and engagement programs
Partners with talent acquisition and hiring managers in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and on boarding employees; provides tools/resources to new employees on culture, company, and groups
Gathers, analyzes, and interprets HR related data for report generation and management decision making; links HR action plans with business needs
Manages training documentation for non-union and union personnel; performs Annual OSHA and EEOC Training.
Files all First Reports of Injury with worker’s compensation carrier, maintains OSHA log.
Closely follows worker’s compensation cases where lost time or alternate duty is involved, maintains open lines of communication with employee and insurance carrier.
Demonstrates awareness of the cross-cultural impact of HR processes; coaches managers on the positive impact of a progressive, diverse, and inclusive work environment
Regularly participates in business discussions and decisions with managers
Acts as employee advocate through effective labor and employee relations
Facilitates conflict resolution activities and assists supervisors and managers through negotiations
Works with local management team to develop and implement engagement and retention plans
Attendance at work is an essential function of the job
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of HR functional areas
Knowledge of and application of employment laws/practices
Working in a union environment is a plus.
Knowledge/experience interpreting Union collective bargaining agreements would be helpful.
Skilled in Kronos and payroll processing system
Previous HRIS experience, preferably UKG
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Familiarity of worker’s compensation claims management and reporting
The ideal candidate will possess a BS degree in Human Resource Management, Labor Relations, Business Management or an applicable field from an accredited university with hands-on experience in the HR function in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
Associate’s Degree with 5+ years experience in a union environment
BA/BS degree with 2-4+ years' experience in a union environment
