Position Overview

Our Commodity Processing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the administrative functions related to commodity trading operations. The ideal candidate will lead a team of administrative professionals, ensuring the smooth execution of daily tasks, record-keeping, and communication within the commodity trading department as well as our customers. The incumbent in this role will also assist in and perform daily tasks associated to our Veg Oils business in accounting and customer service.

Key Responsibilities


  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee the daily activities of the Commodity Merchandising Assistants to effectively lead the performance of the team in the coordination of all processing activity for an assigned Profit Center/Business

  • Select, train and develop personnel to function as a team and to achieve the desired standards and goals of the group and company

  • Review and process contracts and amendments to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Balance warehouse receipts, complete deferred price/basis agreements as well as the addition of lienholders in compliance with internal audit as well as state and federal guidelines

  • Generating regular and ad-hoc reporting for assigned business group or Commodity Merchandising management summarizing key performance indicators, profitability, and other related metrics

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancement and collaborate with the team to implement changes that optimize efficiency. Answer inbound phone calls, assist walk in vendors, and respond to accounting and origination inquiries professionally and promptly

  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business or technical support or production team

  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors

  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan, receives guidance and oversight from manager

  • Typically, does not spend more than 20% of time performing the work supervised

Minimum Qualifications & Skills


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or Equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years' relevant experience preferred, 1-3 years of relevant industry experience required

  • 1-3 years' of Supervisory or Management experience overseeing a team of at least 3 incumbents
