Job summary:

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a CAD Designer located in Farmington Hills, MI.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the CAD Designer role involves…

What a typical day looks like:


  • Assists Electrical Design Engineers in the development of state-of-the-art designs of new or modified, low to high-density, complex, printed circuit boards.

  • Works from preliminary schematics, parts lists and basic description of the board function, configuration and arrangement as defined by engineering.

  • Closely contributes with internal DFX teams to develop a physical layout that optimizes for manufacturability and test.

  • Maintains technical coordination with Flex’s manufacturing groups and the customer’s engineers.

  • Provides ECAD tool expertise.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.

  • 5+ years of CAD design experience and extensive tool training.

  • Plastics experience

  • Has comprehension of the manufacturing process and ability to make design improvements to the process using CAD equipment.
