Description: Senior DevOps Engineer in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)
3 months - contract to hire - W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $85/hour
Salary after conversion: $170,000/year plus healthcare and other benefits

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on AWS, utilizing services such as EMR, SQS, SNS, Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS Fargate, etc.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand infrastructure requirements and provide solutions that meet business objectives.
Implement and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform for automated provisioning and deployment.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to streamline the software delivery process.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployments, and performance.
Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained across the DevOps environment.
Nice to Have:
Possess application development skills, with proficiency in Java 11 and above.
Familiarity with Apache Spark and concepts surrounding big data processing.
Ability to collaborate with development teams to enhance the overall software development lifecycle.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to suggest improvements and optimizations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS services.
Strong expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins.
Java / Spring Boot, Kafka and Terraform required.
Solid understanding of containerization technologies, especially with ECS Fargate.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
