Badger Meter is hiring a Cyber Security Analyst Intern for a fully onsite role this summer in Milwaukee WI (no housing provided).
The Cyber Security Analyst Intern will assist the Information Technology team in analyzing security alerts to determine their origination and threat to the company, advancing the company's infrastructure security, and assisting with end-user security training. Each day the responsibilities will vary depending on the threats that are seen by the various security tools used. The Cyber Security Intern will be responsible for analyzing infrastructure and email threats.
Essential Job Duties:
Learning the internal security tools and the end-user's hardware/windows environment
Analyzing various infrastructure threats/breaches and phishing emails received by end-users
Proposing opportunities to advance the company's infrastructure security
Assisting the Security Incident Response team to analyze the impact of a breach
Performing Phishing campaigns to the end-users to further their training on phishing techniques
Exploring the newer technologies for threat protection
Ability to demonstrate comprehensive, practical knowledge of research and collection skills as well as analytic methods
Ability to assess and analyze information from various sources to develop actionable intelligence
Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
Passion for information security and cybercrime analysis
Awareness of current prominent cyber threats, malware, and threat groups
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field.
No Master's degree students accepted at this time
No OPT/H1B students accepted at this time
WI resident or WI college students strongly preferred
Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft products, Windows and Office
Basic understanding of Cloud platforms, particularly in AWS and Azure
Experience with coding in Python
