The Sr Manager, Hardlines Marketplace Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for managing key growth, planning and process improvement initiatives across the Hardlines Marketplace segment. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders from Product Management, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Analytics, Marketing and Site to drive new initiatives forward by scoping their financial viability, developing business requirements, and leading the execution of pilots and launch plans. Additionally, this role will serve as the program leader and key liaison for all things Walmart Fulfilment Services (WFS) - helping to drive program adoption across seller cohorts and implementing a GTM strategy across Category/Account Managers. A key part of your role will be to use data-driven insights to make informed decisions, driving strategic alignment and innovation. You'll ensure that project outcomes align with our business strategy, contributing significantly to the growth and success of Marketplace & WFS.

You'll make an impact by:




  • Managing the WFS operating plan: Lead category and seller business reviews, track/report financial performance, and remove barriers and obstacles that impact performance.


  • Driving strategic initiatives: Identify and implement vertical business and seller growth initiatives in conjunction with relevant strategy and product teams. Manage specific features, functionalities and tooling enhancements through the development of business cases, product requirements and overall project management.


  • Delivering data-driven insights: Develop insightful market and business intelligence including industry trends, competitive threats, category/assortment opportunities, etc. and advise the Hardlines MP leadership team on strategic implications and actions.


  • Implementing new processes and ways of working: Build effective ways of working across teams and drive collaboration and coordination across functions. Identify opportunity areas that create efficiency, remove obstacles and improve business processes.


  • Building cross-functional advocacy: Build strong and trusting relationships with team members and business partners, works collaboratively and cross-functionally to achieve objectives and communicates with energy and positivity to motivate, influence and inspire commitment and action.


  • Advocating for the platform: Champion and evangelize our platform, and its evolving capabilities, to our Marketplace sellers and internal stakeholders. Drive awareness and adoption of new seller services including global logistics, new advertising capabilities, 'big and bulky fulfilment', and more.


  • Developing Talent: Manage, coach and train a team of high-performing Associates in the development and execution of strategic initiatives.




Minimum Qualification:



  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience in business or related field




Preferred Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of successful marketplace, strategy, business operations or project management experience.

  • 3+ years demonstrated experience managing a team.

  • Strong analytical skills with deep experience across planning and forecasting, business performance analyses, market sizing and business case development.

  • Ability to distill complex business issues and strategies to highlight insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team to drive business positive outcomes.

  • Assertive, adaptable and demonstrates initiative in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00


Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.


Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
