This position's primary responsibility is to support the Statutory/Tax Actuarial Valuation and Financial Reporting procedures for Fidelity & Guaranty Life. This position will execute the Statutory/Tax valuation processes of the following lines of business: Fixed Indexed Annuities, Fixed Deferred Annuities and Registered Indexed Linked Annuities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monthly production of reserves under the following bases: Statutory/Tax
Develop information for preparation, review and analysis of reserve movements
Maintenance/enhancement and timely execution of valuation controls
Assist in the maintenance of the valuation processes for new products, new regulations, etc.
Assist with the PBR Actuarial Report for business falling under VM-21
Experience and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related technical field
Successful completion of ASA certification
Minimum of two years of related actuarial experience
Strong technical, analytical, organizational, computer, and team skills
Experience with Fixed Indexed Annuity, Fixed Deferred Annuity and Registered Indexed Linked Annuity products preferred but not required
Experience with Principles Based Reserves (PBR) preferred but not required
Exposure to GGY-AXIS or similar actuarial modeling software preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and displays a high energy level
Team player who has the ability to function as a key member of a small group
High degree of ownership for their areas of responsibility
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Ability to learn and utilize actuarial software systems
Effective verbal and written communication
Other Requirements
Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned
Regular and punctual attendance
Minimal travel required (less than 10%)
